*What school do you go to?*
A state university
*What digital program do you use?*
I use Paint Tool Sai mostly for sketching, inking, and basic coloring. For shading, lighting, backgrounds, and texture, I use Photoshop CS5. I obtain certain different brushes to experiment.
*What tablet do you own?*
A Bamboo tablet
*What tools do you use to traditionally ink?*
I own several ink brushes and felt-tip pens. I always experiment with different types, depending on what I find in Little Tokyo or certain art stores.
*What do you use for traditional color?*
Prismacolor Markers and colored pencils
*Do you do requests?*
Not anymore. I’m very sorry~
*Do you do art trades?*
Technically yes but I need to organize and make my list since I have gotten so many art trade requests.
*Who/what are you influenced by?*
John Kricfalusi (my idol), Danny Antonucci, Bob Clampett, Bryan Arnett, Quino, Bill Watterson, Al Hirschfeld, Fred Moore, Katie Rice, Genndy Tartakovsky, Preston Blair, Marc Davis, Sandra Equihua & Jorge Gutierrez, Fred Crippen, Chris Sanders, Ben Bocquelet, Mike and Tim Rauch (The Rauch Brothers), Scott Wills, Bill Wray, Mary Blair, Milt Kahl, Hanna-Barbara, Brittney Lee, Eric Goldberg, Jamie Hewlett, a lot of my talented art friends (too many to name), old stylized cartoons 50s/60s, funny TV shows, action comics, cats, and so much more~
*How did you gain your style? What’s your secret?*
I started off by studying off Preston Blair’s Advanced Animation book. Then I studied and analyzed from my favorite artists until I understood and absorbed their styles. I also force myself to draw everyday, at least a sketchbook page per day. It took a lot of practice and patience.
